| EVENT RULES | |||||||||
| Site | |||||||||
| HRA events are almost exclusively held on PRIVATE PROPERTY, as such: | |||||||||
| 1 | Participants are obliged to obey the rules or they will be instructed to leave. | ||||||||
| 2 | Participants that are instructed to leave and choose not to will be considered loiterers and trespassers on private property and will be removed by the municipal or county law enforcement authority. | ||||||||
| 3 | Participants are not to litter; this includes but is not limited to solid dog waste. | ||||||||
| Participants | |||||||||
| 1 | Must behave in a manner consistent with good-sportsmanship | ||||||||
| 2 | Must present a state issued photo id with address at check-in | ||||||||
| 3 | Will not interfere with the run of another participant's dog | ||||||||
| 4 | Will present their dog when called to run, or forfeit their dog's run | ||||||||
| 5 | Cannot under any circumstances, bring any spectators to event. | ||||||||
| - to address concerns with event discretion and entrant privacy, spectators are not allowed. Furthermore, because there are already several staff members in the field including judges, staff photographers, stewards, etc, husbands, wives, children, other dogs, are not allowed to go afield with the owner or handler of the entered dog to reduce the number of distractions for the dog. While HRA events will always be family friendly, and people are encouraged to bring their children if they desire, immediate family only may be on-site. | |||||||||
| 6 | Cannot under any circumstances, bring or use any still-picture or motion-picture cameras. | ||||||||
| - in a further effort to address concerns with event discretion and the privacy of fellow entrants, participants are strictly forbidden to use cameras during the event. This includes telephones with camera capabilities. Any and all camera phones must be declared at check-in, and secured in vehicle at all times while on event property. Pictures/videos of the events are property of the HRA. Approved images and/or footage taken by staff photographers can be ordered from the HRA during the event. | |||||||||
| 7 | Cannot under any circumstances, bring or use any firearms to a qualifier. | ||||||||
| - The only firearm allowed on the property will be a single shot .22 cal or .410 ga. to be used at the judge's discretion in certain qualifiers and trials. | |||||||||
| 8 | Will return their dog's assigned identifying collar(s) to the event Scribe before leaving the event site. | ||||||||
| Dogs | |||||||||
| 1 | Must be AKC registered purebred Rhodesian Ridgebacks (ILP and desexed dogs may enter) | ||||||||
| 2 | Bitches will be swabbed at check-in | ||||||||
| - bitches found to be in estrous will be dismissed with a refund of any fee paid to sponsor | |||||||||
| 3 | All entered dogs will be assigned an identifying collar combination. That collar combination must be worn from check-in until the dog leaves the property. | ||||||||
| 4 | E-collars are allowed in HRA Hunt Trials, but are not allowed in HRA Qualifiers. | ||||||||
| - The trials are for dogs that have already qualified and have at least some experience. The qualifiers are for green dogs, and e-collars should never be used on a green dog. | |||||||||
| You are strongly encouraged to bring the following items to make your event experience as memorable and fun as possible: | |||||||||
| Provide warmth/shade for yourself and your dog(s) if it is going to be cold/hot outside. Remember to bring food and water for the same. The dogs are run one-at-a-time, so just like at a lure coursing trial, there is a lot of down-time for the individual participants. | |||||||||
| Bring your checkbook. If your dog qualifies and you want to order any of the ribbons, rosettes, pictures, video, etc of your dog, you may do so at the event for the (group-ordering) event-discounted rates. You can order anything you want after the event as well; however, any items ordered after the event will be at the regular non-discounted pricing. | |||||||||
| Bring season appropriate and 'field appropriate' clothing and footwear. You should also bring a water proof outer-layer if needed. We won't continue with a qualifier if there is a heavy rain or snow, but a very light rain actually improves scenting conditions for the dogs so we will continue under those conditions. | |||||||||
| This acknowledgement form must be signed and returned or pre-registration will be denied. | |||||||||
