Mixed bag Quail and Chukar 'clean-up' hunt. This is strictly a fun hunt, there will be no dedicated judge witnessing or planned AOP submission or review. Each handler provide their own shotgun and shot shells. Entry fee is per handler. A handler may run as many of their own dogs braced as they wish for their single entry fee. trial, there is not a qualification prerequisite for
entry. Hunters are free to enter a green dog(s) if they want to. Open
to all HRA eligible breeds when running singles. Open to braces/packs
of any mix, so long as at least one of the dogs is of an HRA eligible
breed.
Witness will be observing each dog/brace for AOP submission. AOP submissions will be reviewed by multi-judge panel each evening for titling consideration. Handlers with a dog receiving AOP titling will be notified the following day. Marker hunts utilize a non-lethal marker so that the hunt can unfold normally, with confirmation of shot placement, but without harvest. A marker will be provided for those who do not have one. Traditional hunts require the handler provide their own firearm and ammunition. Ideal firearms will be larger caliber, and have open sights or sighting systems with very wide field of view. The majority of the Eurasians on this reserve are sows and relatively young boars, so cutting teeth will be absent or very short on most game. Nevertheless, handlers are encouraged to thoughtfully consider the use of protective cut collars and/or bay-vests. Entry fee is not per dog, but per owner/ handler. An owner/ handler may run as many of their dogs braced as they wish for their single entry fee. Owners/ Handlers may also combine their dogs to form scratch packs at their own discretion, but each individual owner/ handler will be required to pay an entry fee.
